Days 01 :Arrive Trivandrum – Varkala (Drive 54kms 1˝ hour)
Meeting and assistance on arrival at Trivandrum and transfer to Varkala and check-in at your hotel. Varkala – A beautiful seaside resort with mineral water springs. The beautiful expanse of beach is flanked by thousands of palm trees. Red laterite cliffs that border the beach just dramatically into the sea. These cliffs gush mineral springs reputed for their medicinal properties. This seashore is called “papanasm” and hundreds of Hindu devotees perform “Vavu Bali” on new moon days of the Malayalam month of Karkidakam. Beside its beautiful beaches, Varkala is also famous for a Vishnu Shrine dedicated to Lord Janardhana. Rest of the day at leisure on beach.

Days 02 : Varkala- Periyar (Drive 244kms 5 hours)
After breakfast leave for Periyar by car/coach. Periyar is a large scenic park and comprises the watershed of reservoir developed around this artificial lake. It is famous for its large elephant population, which can easily be seen by boat from the lake. On arrival check in at Hotel. Afternoon at leisure.
Overnight :-at Hotel.

Days 03 : Periyar
Morning boat cruise on Lake Periyar which is surrounded by forests, meadows and hills. As you enjoy your boat cruise, you may sight wildlife like elephants, woodland birds, darters and cormorants. Afternoon is free.
Overnight:- at hotel.

Days 04 : Periyar – Kumarakom (Drive 114kms 3 hours)
After breakfast leave for Kumarakom,which is again a picturesque, drive. On arrival at Kumarakom, check in at Hotel. Kumarakom, lying on the eastern shore of Vemband Lake is only 6 miles away from the coastal town. Kumarakom backwater resort bound by the Vemband lake on two sides, the swaying paddy fields on one side and islands on the lake across from Kumarakom are home to a large variety of migratory birds. Rest of the day at leisure.

Days 05 : Kumarakom
Early in the morning we take a sunrise boat cruise on the Vemband Lake and also visit to the bird sanctuary. Day at leisure. Overnight at Hotel.
Days 06 : Leave Kumarakom (on board Kettuvalom/houseboats)
Breakfast at hotel. In the afternoon board houseboats/Kettuvaloms.Kettuvaloms: The traditional rice boats of Kerala – A romantic way to explore the unique web of lakes, lagoons, canals and rivers. These Kettuvaloms/house boats converted into and accommodation of one/two bedrooms, a kitchen and a sitting/dinning area. Each cabin has a double bead and en-suite WC and washbasin. The crew has their own separate facilities. As the boat slowly cruises through the backwaters, absorb this unusual representation of Kerala life. You will be awed at the vast expanse of the paddy fields that surround these beautiful backwaters. The boats will stop in villages for you to experience a glimpse of the village life in rural Kerala. The villagers will be only too please to invite you to have a sip from the freshly –picked raw coconut from their own field. Overnight on board Kettuvaloms.

Days 07 : Arrive Alleppey/Cochin (Drive 60kms 1˝ hours)
Breakfast at houseboat. Later arrive at Alleppey by houseboat and transfer to Cochin by car/coach. On arrival check-in at Hotel. Cochin, is a city with a rich past, from time immemorial has seen maritime trade with the outside world. Portuguese led by Vasco Da Gama arrived in 1502 and later the Dutch and the British. And descendants of the Jews who arrived in ancient days still live here. Rest of the day free for independent activities.

Days 08 : Cochin
Sightseeing tour of Cochin takes you to the Jewish section where the first emigration of Jews to Kerala is said to have taken place in the 6th Century B.C (in the 1st Century A.D. Jews had fled from Roman persecutions and sought to haven in Cranganore, 80 Km away). The Jewish Synagogue in Mattancherry was built in 1568 and rebuilt in 1664 with Chinese willow – patterned tiles and gold crown and has ancient scrolls. Visit the Dutch Palace built by the Portuguese in 1510 and later taken over by the Dutch. See St. Francis Church, the first European Church in India, until his remains were taken back to Portugal, and the Chinese fishing nets named after the country of their origin. In the evening witness a Kathakali dance. It is a classical art form of Kerala, which follows the age-old traditions of dance drama. The literal meaning of Kathakali is Katha (story) kali (play) and when performed is a complete form of the theatre.

Days 09 : Cochin/Mararikulam (Drive 63kms 1˝ hours)
After breakfast leave fro Mararikulam by car/coach. On arrival check-in at Marari Beach Resort. Marari Beach Resort : Set in 25 acres of coconut palm groves leading down to the vast expanse of Marari beach. Brand new resort built in the style of traditional Keralite fishing village with all modern facilities. The resort is delightfully furnished, all villas are air-conditioned, and bathrooms are spacious and modern built in traditional Kerala style with an open-air courtyard.

Days 10-11 : Mararikulam
Days at leisure on beach. Overnight at hotel.

Days 12 : Mararikulam/Trivandrum (Drive 157kms 4 hours)
Morning leave for Trivandrum airport to board flight for onward destination. (Extend stay possible in Marari at additional cost.)
